This autumn, National Trust destinations in Surrey are bursting with half term Halloween adventures and other seasonal activities not to be missed.

Whether you're hunting for conkers, spotting wildlife, or simply soaking in the autumn colours, Surrey’s National Trust destinations promise memorable experiences for all age.

📍 Dapdune Wharf, Wharf Road, Guildford, Surrey, GU1 4RR

River Wey Festival | Sat 27 Sep, 11am-8pm
Enjoy a family festival at Dapdune Wharf. Browse the craft stalls, enjoy street food and take part in free family activities and relax by the river with live music. At dusk the illuminated pageant will take centre stage with boats lighting up the river on their way from the town centre to Dapdune. Free entry.

Spooktacular fun run | Sat 25 Oct, 4.30-7.45pm
As darkness falls, test your fitness and your fears in our 2k night run around the haunted Wharf and island. Look out for a string of spooky surprises on the way! Dressing up encouraged. Café will be open. £5 per runner. Booking essential

Arts and crafts | Mon 27 Oct – Fri 31, 11am-4pm
Enjoy free family arts and crafts at Dapdune Wharf. Free, donations welcome. The café and second-hand bookshop will be open.

Autumn is fungi season. What kind of slimy, surprising, and spectacular fungi will you discover around Winkworth? Join our expert fungi spotter Sarah Shepley for this fun walk around the Arboretum. £10/adult, £5/child.

We're Going on a Bear Hunt family trail | 6 September to 9 November (daily, 10am-4pm)
Follow a free children's trail around the grounds of Polesden Lacey, based on the classic story, 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt'. The trail is free after normal property admission has been paid.

Heritage Open Weekend | 13-14 September
Polesden Lacey will open its doors for free all weekend as part of the 2025 Heritage Open Day scheme. Meet the Polesden Lacey team, enjoy live music (2pm-4pm), enjoy family activities, watch conservation demonstrations and more.
