Make a real difference in a child’s life

East Sussex County Council is continuing to raise awareness of the urgent need for local foster carers following the release of its fostering film, The Run.

As the local authority, East Sussex County Council is responsible for finding and matching fostering placements for every child in East Sussex who needs care — from newborns to teenagers. The council prioritises placing children with its own dedicated foster carers, ensuring they remain within their local community wherever possible.

Foster carers receive comprehensive training, ongoing professional support and guidance throughout their journey. The council is keen to stress that carers come from all walks of life — what matters most is a commitment to providing stability, care and encouragement to a child who cannot live with their birth family.

The Run offers a powerful insight into the fostering experience and the real difference carers can make in a young person’s life.
