You’d love to foster and make a difference, but…

Your current circumstances might not be quite right, you’re moving house soon, your children are doing their exams this year and you don’t want to rock the boat. There are many reasons why you don’t feel ready to foster yet, but there are other ways you could help.

Become fostering confident
It’s a big decision to become a foster carer, but doing some research is easy if you head to the right place. You could attend an online fostering information session or give East Sussex County Council a call for an informal, initial chat.

Fostering needs to fit in with family life and work commitments, and there are several types of fostering to suit different situations. You might know somebody who could make a great foster carer! The more you know, the more comfortable you will be talking about it.

Why people choose to foster with East Sussex County Council
East Sussex County Council foster carers are skilled and respected for their unique role, it’s more flexible than you might realise, and very well supported:

• Established, experienced local team
• Competitive weekly pay
• Ongoing training and development

'To know that you’ve made them feel happy and safe at a difficult time in their life, really is the best feeling' (Current ESCC Foster Carer).
