Escape into autumn at Ham House and Garden

Visit Ham House and Garden in Richmond for family fun this October half term! From 26th October to 3rd November, they’re running a potion-themed outdoor trail in the gardens around Ham House, a rare 17th-century survivor on the banks of the River Thames.

Suitable for all ages, the trail is a fun way to get into the spooky spirit and engage with nature. Simply grab a trail sheet from the welcome team, find ingredients hidden around the gardens to collect magic points and then discover which potion you’ve conjured!

There will also be seasonal spotter and autumn leaves colouring-in sheets available. Special places to explore on your outdoor wander include the Kitchen Garden, where you can see colourful squashes and pumpkins, and the maze-like Wilderness, with hedged compartments and wooden summerhouses to sit in.

Step inside the impressive Stuart house to fire up young imaginations and discover more about life in the 1600s. In the basement rooms, don’t miss their super-sized cauldron and visit the historic kitchen to see a spooky spin on gingerbread!

Warm up with delicious hot chocolates, lunches and scrumptious seasonal treats from the Orangery Café. The shop also has plenty of pocket money-friendly goodies!

Trail included in normal admission. Visit www.nationaltrust.org.uk/ham-house for details.
