Sutton High School GDST Named London Independent School of the Year 2025
Sutton High School GDST is proudly celebrating its most recent accolade as London Independent School of the Year at the prestigious Independent Schools of the Year Awards 2025. This recognition crowns a remarkable year, with the school also shortlisted for the TES Independent Senior School of the Year and awarded the rare “Significant Strength” judgement under the new ISI framework. Sutton High was also welcomed into the esteemed HMC community.
Head Beth Dawson praised the dedication of staff, ambition of students, and support of families, celebrating the school’s joyful, courageous, and empowering ethos. Exciting developments include a new 18,000 sq. ft Sixth Form Centre opening in summer 2026 and dynamic plans for the Nursery and Prep School under new Head Emily Ruiz.
Academic excellence continues to shine in 2025 as 91% of A Level students secured their first-choice university, with 86% achieving A*-B grades and 22.8% of all grades at A*, more than double the national average. GCSE results were equally impressive with 25.6% of grades at level 9 and 99.7% at 9–4.
