The Summer Season at Ham House

Escape into nature this summer with a visit to the gardens at Ham House and Garden, a beautiful 17th‑century Stuart house set on the banks of the Thames in Richmond.

Try your hand at classic lawn games including croquet and badminton. The maze‑like Wilderness is ideal for a round of hide and seek, a timeless favourite for all ages. Catch your breath in the Garden Room for some colouring-in and to grab a seasonal garden spotter. Little ones can dive into messy play at the mud kitchen behind the Orangery Café, exploring different natural textures.

Families can also watch biodiversity in action as birds, bees and other pollinators are attracted to the wildflowers that pop up across the lawns and courtyards. During the summer, aromatic lavender springs up across the gardens; a beautiful purple haze takes over the elegant Cherry Garden.

Take a break with a picnic or stop by the Orangery Café for lunch, snacks or a refreshing ice cream, then round off your day with a browse in the shop and second‑hand bookshop, perfect for picking up pocket‑money treasures.

Lawn games free to enjoy from 21st July - 2nd September. Normal admission fees apply.
