Yarm School to Host One of Region’s Biggest Careers Convention
Yarm School is opening its doors to pupils, parents, and teachers from across the Tees Valley as it hosts its biennial career convention next week.
Taking place on 27 April from 6:30 pm, the school is welcoming a diverse range of professions, as well as training organisations and universities to one of the largest career conventions in the region.
With representatives from more than 25 universities in attendance, the event is an opportunity for pupils from the area to discuss the range of courses on offer as well as other opportunities universities can provide.
Of the many careers represented there will be professionals from healthcare, business and finance, sport, tech and IT, law, design, education, media, aviation, social work and the armed forces. They will be able to discuss entry routes and requirements, as well as career profession routes.
No ticket or registration is required for the event, and parking is available on the Senior School and Prep School sites as well as in the High Street.
Stephen Edwards, Head of Careers at Yarm School said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming pupils from across the Tees Valley. There will be so many professional and educational institutions able to offer their advice and guidance. Information and insight is essential for making better choices for the future.
“The event is designed for pupils aged between 14 and 18 and there will be something for everyone whether considering employment, an apprenticeship or a university course.”
Dr Lane from Queensway said “Queensway Dental Group are delighted to attend the Career Convention once more this year and are excited to meet students from across the area who are curious about dentistry and the many career paths within the industry. I will be there in my role as lead dentist along with one of our highly skilled hygienists, and specialist orthodontist.”
