Deer Park at Dusk | Saturday 4th November | 4pm – 6pm
Raby Castle’s visitors have been enjoying its extended opening hours with some dreamy autumnal evenings. Raby has added an extra date on bonfire weekend for those who would like an alternative to escape from the busy crowds and embrace the tranquil spaces at Raby Castle. The evening will include a pop-up kitchen, late-night shopping perfect for those seeking Christmas gifts, and twilight tours all amongst the magnificent castle lit up for all to see.
Here’s what will be available:
Twilight Terrace Tours: Take a twilight tour around the castle terrace with one of Raby’s senior guides and discover the nine towers of Raby Castle which give the magnificent building its unique shape and character. This outdoor tour of the castle terrace strips back the later architectural additions to focus on the building during the medieval period, looking at the surviving medieval features and what they can tell us about the people who lived and worked here over 500 years ago. The twilight tour will take place at 5pm.
Castle Terrace and Illumination: See the historic Raby Castle illuminated against the crisp autumn night sky and walk around the castle terrace. Watch as its turrets and walls come alive with a warm, inviting radiance, creating a captivating backdrop for the evening.
Pop Up Kitchen: Enjoy delicious locally sourced food made by Raby’s estate chef, including Raby Longhorn Burgers, Wild Boar Sausage and Vegan Plant Burger.
Late Night Shopping: Start the Christmas shopping early with an exclusive 10% off during the evening.
Autumnal Walk: Discover the tranquil Deer Park and remember to wrap up warm and bring a torch to illuminate the path as you explore the mysteries of the night.
