FEBRUARY HALF TERM FUN AT RABY CASTLE STARTS THIS WEEKEND

Raby Castle has revealed its plans for the long-awaited February half term taking place between Saturday 10th and Sunday 25th February.

Encouraging adventure through nature and the first signs of spring, there will be two new trails for families to enjoy throughout its stunning deer park and woodland adventure playground, The Plotters’ Forest.

Nestled in the Christmas tree plantation, a spring themed trail at The Plotters’ Forest awaits through the towering gateway. Families can get close to nature whilst they find a selection of spring flowers and enjoy all that the bespoke playground has to offer – from ground-level forest trails, treetop tunnels, high walkways and towers to outdoor musical instruments, a giant memory game and spinning signposts.

Freddie the Frog takes centre stage in a Deer Park adventure, as little explorers will need to run, jump and play in the parkland to help find his friends. The trail is included in standard Deer Park admissions and a complimentary activity sheet will be handed to visitors upon arrival.

As tummies start to rumble, the Plotters’ Pantry which is located at the top of the playground will be open to serve a selection of tasty treats, or explorers can venture back down to the Yurt Cafe.

Brand new for 2024, children will be able to venture inside Raby Castle for an interactive theatre experience known as the ‘Castle Quest’ on Saturday 24th February. A world of mystery and intrigue awaits as families join Edward and Kitty on a thrilling adventure to solve the case of a priceless piece of art that has gone missing.

The indoor theatre experience is a 45-minute interactive and immersive performance, created by Rusticus Theatre.

A nature-inspired children’s trail is also on offer at High Force Waterfall, just a thirty-minute scenic drive from Raby Castle.

Specially created for the February half term celebrations, families can embark on a spectacular journey through the wonders of nature at one of the most impressive waterfalls in England, on a new adventure called ‘The Big Bug Safari’.

Raby Castle’s Deer Park is open daily from 10am until 4pm. Tickets cost £6.50 for adults and £4.50 for children (aged 4-15 years). A family ticket (two adults and three children) can also be purchased for £20 and children under 4 go free.
