Young eggs-plorers and eggs-pert adventurers alike are invited to hop over to Raby Castle where a world of family fun awaits this Easter holiday.
Activities for all the family include egg-cellent eggs in The Plotters’ Forest and Easter Family Fun trail through the Deer Park. There’s also the opportunity to take part in an egg-citing Bunny Hop trail at the magnificent High Force Waterfall or enjoy an indulgent Easter afternoon tea at the nearby High Force Hotel.
Between Saturday 23rd March and Sunday 14th April*, families will have the chance to seek out colourful Easter eggs hidden in Raby’s woodland adventure playground The Plotters’ Forest – providing clues to help spell out the Easter Bunny’s name.
In the neighbouring Deer Park the Easter Family Fun trail will give visitors the opportunity to eggs-plore some of the 14th century estate’s beautiful parkland, and with a trail sheet in hand, discover farmyard animals and an array of wildlife including ducks, swans and Raby’s famous Red and Fallow deer, along the way.
For extra value this Easter, children go free into Raby Castle throughout the holiday period with a valid Plotters’ Forest and Deer Park ticket, so children can discover the fascinating history behind the castle walls and use the castle quest trail sheet as they explore.
At the stunning nearby High Force Waterfall, in the heart of the North Pennines National Landscape, an additional Easter egg hunt invites families to come and search for the hidden treasures nestled within the woodland trail.
For anyone seeking a more indulgentEaster experience, High Force Hotel is offering afternoon tea on Easter Sunday (31st March). Featuring a selection of savoury sandwiches, scones and sweet treats, this teatime treat also includes admission to High Force Waterfall. Pre-booking for afternoon tea is essential as the event has limited places only.
