DARLINGTON HIPPODROME REVEALS LINE-UP OF SHOWS TO KICK OFF 2025

 

Comedy royalty, showstopping musicals, astonishing dance and breath-taking opera, there are treats for all the family in Darlington Hippodrome’s new Spring season.

Ben Elton is set to make his first appearance at Darlington Hippodrome with his new one-man stand-up show Authentic Stupidity (Wed 22 Jan). If you are looking for more laughs then Darlington Hippodrome’s new spring season is a must featuring Jason Manford (Thu 30 Jan), a double-bill of Jasper Carrott and Alistair McGowan (Wed 5 March) and Jimmy Carr (Thu 20 March).

 

For musicals fans there’s a fabulous opportunity to let your inner diva out with Sing The Musicals (Fri 7 March). Anton Du Beke returns to Darlington with his all-new stage show Anton Du Beke At The Musicals (Sat 15 March), the legendary Rocky Horror Show makes a welcome return to the Hippodrome stage (Mon 31 March – Sat 5 April) and our home-grown talent in DarlingtonOS present their latest blockbuster musical Everybody’s Talking About Jamie (Wed 30 April – Sat 10 May). The West End smash hit Cruel Intentions (Tue 20 – Say 24 May) will flood the stage with 90’s hits and you can spend the evening in the company of musical royalty with Tim Rice – My Life In Musicals (Mon 26 May).

 

The Varna International Ballet returns to Darlington with three classic titles. The Nutcracker (Sat 8 Feb), Swan Lake (Sun 9 Feb) and Romeo & Juliet (Mon 10 Feb). Ballet Lorent breathes new life into the story of Snow White (Fri 16 – Sat 17 May) and English Youth Ballet presents Giselle (Fri 13 – Sat 14 June).

 

Audiences can experience the joy of opera as Ellen Kent brings two of the most famous titles to Darlington with La Boheme (Thu 13 March) and Madama Butterfly (Fri 14 March).

 

Guaranteed to delight drama lovers, Middle Ground Theatre Company presents Dial M For Mayhem (Wed 19 – Sat 22 Feb) and the comedy twist of a classic returns to Darlington with …Earnest? (Mon 10 – Tues 11 March). London Classic theatre presents Alan Ayckbourn’s Just Between Ourselves (Tue 15 – Thu 17 April) and Tilted Wig and MAST Mayflower Studios present Spitfire Girls (Tue 27 – Sat 31 May).

 

There’s plenty on offer for younger audiences with Pirates Love Underpants (Tues 25 – Thur 27 Feb), Bing’s Birthday (Fri 21 – Sat 22 March), Horrible Histories (Thur 27 – Sat 29 March), the Easter pantomime Pinocchio starring Bobby Davro (Mon 21 April) and Milkshake Live! (Wed 23 April).

Perfect for Strictly Come Dancing fans, Giovanni Pernice presents The Last Dance (Wed 29 Jan) and later in the year Strictly 2024 winner Dianne Buswell teams up with Vito Coppola in Red Hot & Ready (Sun 13 July).

You can also enjoy a host of music tribute acts including Thank Abba For The Music (Tues 18 Feb), Just My Imagination (Sun 16 March), The Roy Orbison Story (Sun 23 March) and The Marvin Gaye Songbook (Tues 13 May).
