The Moreton Show not only provides a brilliant day out for families but also celebrates the British countryside and local businesses from the Cotswolds. The show returns this September on Saturday 3 September. After the show’s highly successful revamp in 2021 the organisers have decided to keep the expanded capacity of the Food and Retail Avenues.
The avenues this year play host to more than 40 food and retail trade stands that supply a wide range of products. These include locally reared Hereford beef and rugs made from recycled clothes. Forty of these food stands represent businesses that can be found within a 20-mile radius of the showground. The team this year are focused on supporting and showcasing food and food producers from the local area.
Richard Heath, the Moreton Show’s trade stand coordinator says: “We are keen to promote farm to fork at our show. We think its paramount that everyone understands where their food comes from, and what it takes to produce that food. We hope to help educate the next generation about their food and what makes up a balanced diet.”
The Pig and Lion is a long-standing supporter of the Moreton Show and has had a trade stand for the past twelve years. This year the team from The Pig and Lion are demonstrating traditional and sustainable rag rug making throughout the show. The team are encouraging you to bring pieces of your own clothes to use in the rag rugs that would otherwise be thrown away. Ann-Rachel from The Pig and Lion says: “I love how rural life runs through the heart of the show, its friendly, supportive and inspirational.”
There is also a wide range of products available throughout the show for you to buy ranging from combine harvesters and other farming equipment to cashmere, tweed, wellies and wax jackets as well as lots more. The show is ticketed with tickets ranging from £10 for children between the ages of 5 and 15 to £20 for people over 16 and £50 for families with two adults and up to three children.
