Family fun is mushrooming at Westonbirt Arboretum in the next three months with a fungi trail running throughout October and November, as the arboretum reaches its full autumn glory. Simply collect a completely free map of the trail from the Arboretum’s Welcome Building to take part. Additionally, it is hosting free fungi craft activities between Mon 24 and Fri 28 Oct. Simultaneously, a trail of characters from The Gruffalo is another way for children to enjoy the forest environment. The statues which include the Gruffalo itself are located on a trail through the Old Arboretum for which you can get a free map from the Welcome Building upon arrival. Look out for The Gruffalo’s Child on Barn Walk.
Meanwhile, behind the scenes, Father Christmas’s elves are working hard to create an illuminated trail as part of Westonbirt Arboretum’s Enchanted Christmas experience. The experience runs from Fri 25 Nov to Wed 21 Dec in the afternoon and evenings, 4pm to 9:30pm with time slots available every 10 minutes. Tickets for Enchanted Christmas are £11 for children aged 3 to 16, £17 for concessions (students & job seekers), and £19 adults with tickets for children aged under 3 being free (but still required).
Pre-booking is essential to visit the arboretum between 1 Oct and 13 Nov.
