“We want to provide parents with guilt free childcare,” says Kate Hall, founder of Camp 4-2-11, which runs holiday camps in Cheltenham, Gloucester and Stroud. “I’m a working parent of six and I realised how hard it is in the long holidays, so I wanted to offer a variety of activities to children: not just sport but something for every child.” She organises a variety of “exciting, unique and specialised” activities including magic, science workshops, archery, inflatables and pedal cars, all led by qualified instructors.
“I aim to give children opportunities that they may never come across, which parents may not have time to do,” says Kate. “My daughter learnt archery at the camp and progressed to shoot for Deer Park Archers (a club which has trained two world No. 1 archers). She would never have thought to do archery if it weren’t for this camp.”
The camp caters for children of all abilities, with one-to-one specialists for those children with extra needs, to discussing each child’s requirements with their parents. All staff are DBS-checked, safeguarding and paediatric first aid-trained, while the camp accepts children aged 3 to 11, and can take childcare vouchers.
