Understanding animals with GAWA

Animal Experience Days run by Gloucestershire Animal Welfare Association (GAWA) are inclusive, unique opportunities for young people aged 5 to 16 to work alongside the rescue animals at Cheltenham Animal Shelter during the school holidays. Attendees learn about responsible pet ownership and other animal-related activities.

During the session, they experience an animal interaction with the charity’s rescue dogs, cats, and small animals, create a craft or enrichment item, and learn how to safely interact with animals and understand their behaviour.

The sessions are available in term time on request for home-educated young people (contact the education team for more information). For more information, email, call or visit the website.
