It’s all at the Forest of Dean Fringe this March!

Wyldwood Arts hosts a free and low-cost arts festival in the Forest of Dean throughout March, featuring local and national artists and performers across the area. Highlights of the Forest of Dean Fringe, 1 to 30 March, include a Spring Equinox Celebration on Sat 23 Mar in Coleford and the theatre piece, Fowl Play, on Wed 27 Mar at the Wesley Arts Centre, Cinderford.

The Spring Equinox Celebration promises to be a family event for the local community. It features a colourful ensemble of giant figures, banners, costumes and flags representing spring made by schools, community groups and individuals which makes its way around the field as the communities welcome the lighter days after the short days of winter. There’s lots of dancing and singing along the way, with wildflower seeds scattered at the end of the route and a new tree planted in the wildlife meadow to mark renewal and regrowth. It runs from 12noon-2pm, free.

Fowl Play has been devised by local young people, and tells a story of the River Wye and how aspects of agriculture can impact water quality. 3.45-4.30pm. Free, (suggested donation of £3 supports the youth theatre).
