Competition for Gloucestershire’s seven grammar schools has intensified, with over 3,200 children sitting the test for September 2025 entry, competing for just over 1,000 places. Rising demand is driven by economic pressures and the introduction of VAT on private school fees, a trend unlikely to reverse soon.
