World Space Week at the National Space Centre

To celebrate World Space Week the National Space Centre is hosting an exciting sleepover package, including the opportunity to meet an Apollo astronaut!

How would you like to spend the night in the galleries, have exclusive access to the Centre after hours, meet an Apollo astronaut and sit back for a family movie in the UKs largest planetarium?

Other activities include meeting Bruno, one of the UK test rover robots from Airbus that will be heading to Mars in 2020, listening to talks, discovering new worlds with deep space telescopes and even making a satellite hat to take home!

The highlight will be settling down to sleep under satellites, or beside spacesuits.

*Al Worden was command module pilot for Apollo 15 and a nine-year NASA veteran. Apollo 15 was the fourth manned lunar-landing mission and the first to use a lunar roving vehicle. During the flight lasting from July 26 until August 7, 1971, Al Worden logged a 38-minute spacewalk outside the Endeavour command model to retrieve film from panoramic and mapping cameras.
