Appeal for Foster Carers to come forward in Leicester

Leicester City Council is urgently appealing to people in Leicester and the surrounding areas to come forward to foster. There are more than 600 children and young people in care in Leicester and with a national shortage of foster carers, many are still waiting for foster homes.

Foster carers play a vital role in providing stability, love and care for children and young people who cannot remain with their birth families. A foster placement allows them to be part of a loving home environment where they have the support and consistency they need to thrive.

There is a high demand for carers across the board, particularly carers with experience working with children with SEND, and those who are able to care for siblings and teenagers.

Fostering with Leicester City Council means direct practical and financial support from your local authority, with comprehensive introductory training and ongoing support from the moment you enquire, throughout your fostering journey.
