Trowbridge says thank you with its free Mid-Summer Festival
Music, arts, food and drink … what better way than to spend a Saturday in June? The families of Trowbridge have a chance to celebrate when Trowbridge Town Council partners with Trowbridge Town Hall to host a Mid-Summer Festival on Sat 10 Jun from 2pm to 9.30pm at Trowbridge Park. The event marks the temporary closure of the hall this July for a major refurbishment, before which the council wishes to thank the whole Trowbridge community. It aims to offer a flavour of the creative talent it will continue to nurture when it re-opens again in early 2025.
During the afternoon, the festival offers great entertainment ranging from children’s theatre to high-wire acts, jugglers to puppetry, and dance, performed in the beauty of park’s the Sensory Gardens. It is also a chance to see a repeat performance of the “amazing” ‘The Four Winds’, created by a local community company in partnership with the National Theatre this year.
As visitors relax and enjoy the entertainment, there’s a large street food and drinks quarter to fuel the festival feel.
In the evening, music takes centre stage with four acts who should appeal to everyone, headlined by emerging Trowbridge-based, singer/songwriter, Franki Soul. The event is sponsored by Newland Homes who says, “We take great pride in being part of the communities in which we build… just one of the ways we’re ‘considerate, conscientious and crafted’ in our approach.”
