Jet fighter thrills
Want to sit in the cockpit of a fighter jet? One of Wiltshire’s lesser-known gems, The Boscombe Down Aviation Collection at Old Sarum, which remains open throughout most of the year, until 31 October, allows children to do exactly that. With some of the world’s most iconic jet aircraft displayed, including the historic Meteor NF11, used for radar trials and the Hunter F6A complete with its original paint scheme, it’s a great day out for the family. Open 10am-5pm.
