Come and build Playhenge!

Children and families will be using their wildest imagination to build an adventure playground at Stonehenge this half term.

Stonehenge, a site steeped in ancient mystery and wonder, will play host to an extraordinary building event, as English Heritage invites children and adults to grab hammers, saws, nails and wood and construct Playhenge, the temporary adventure playground of their dreams!

From Fri 17 May to Tue 4 Jun (ex. Thursdays) English Heritage is working with Woodland Tribe, the UK masters of constructive play, helping children and families work together to create an evolving, extraordinary and imaginative structure and space, just as the builders of Stonehenge did 5,000 years ago.

Inspired by the spirit of collaboration and innovation that may have guided the original builders of Stonehenge, Playhenge offers a hands-on experience that bridges the gap between ancient and modern-day construction. Children of all ages will have the opportunity to design and build their own Playhenge, fostering imagination and teamwork in a playful and engaging environment. In this exciting event, real tools will be safely used by children and their adults to build the play structure of their dreams using natural materials.

Playhenge is suitable for ages 4+. Children must be accompanied by an adult (minimum of one accompanying adult per three children). The event lasts approximately 50 minutes and requires pre-booking but is included in the admission price. Book online and save 15%.

Playhenge runs from Fri 17 May to Tues 4 Jun (ex. Thursdays). For more information visit:
